Elmet Technologies to acquire JEVCO International:
LEWISTON, Maine, November, 16, 2011 – Elmet Technologies, Inc. today announced it has acquired JEVCO International, Inc., a premier contract manufacturer of ultra high precision machined components with operations in Gig Harbor, Washington and Chengdu, China.
This acquisition brings together two leading companies with complementary strategic visions and technology, and a shared commitment to delivering high quality products and services to their customers. Together, Elmet and JEVCO provide a broad portfolio of product and services serving high-tech industries including aerospace, semiconductor, medical and other precision sensitive industries.
Further, Elmet and JEVCO are able to provide additional value to current and new aerospace customers by realizing synergies with ETI Precision. ETI Precision was started by Elmet in 2010 to provide precision machining of specialty metals to all industries. ETI’s broad machining expertise coupled with JEVCO’s knowledge of the aerospace industry and AS9100 certification will open new opportunities in aerospace for the three companies.
“This acquisition represents the next step in our globalization strategy,” noted Robin Cook, President and CEO of Elmet Technologies. “JEVCO is recognized globally for excellence in its spindle products and contract manufacturing services. The company maintains strong relationships with its customers and supply networks by leading the industry in quality and service.”
“We are excited about the new growth opportunities that this acquisition presents to JEVCO,” says Rick Douglas, General Manager of JEVCO. “We have built a successful company that has established itself as a global leader. Now together with Elmet, we will work with their team to continue the growth and leverage Elmet’s expertise and market opportunities.”
As General Manager of JEVCO’s Chengdu facility, Robert Bell noted, “The competitive gains are substantial for Elmet as we begin to integrate selected Elmet products and operations into our Chengdu facility. In addition, the advantage of ramping at an existing facility that is already producing for both the US and Asian markets enables Elmet to hit the ground running.”
Following the acquisition, JEVCO will continue operate independently to preserve its successful brand. The two companies will begin immediately to leverage each other’s expertise and operations to address new opportunities and to better serve their existing customers.
