In addition to pure and HCT molybdenum, Elmet Technologies also produces lanthanated molybdenum products (MoLa), such as rod, sheet, plate and wire. Lanthanated molybdenum doped products have a higher recrystallization temperature than either pure molybdenum or HCT moly and normally exhibit better ductility characteristics after recrystallization. Application temperature limits for MoLa exceed those of HCT, and MoLa is utilized in those applications where the limits of HCT are reached.
Elmet also produces molybdenum products via powder metallurgy processes, using pure molybdic oxide as the starting raw material. In addition, lanthanum metal products are fabricated into a variety of components which have important industrial uses.
