Elmet Technologies of Lewiston, Maine, is pleased to announce commercial release of its expanded line of ASTM TZM rod sizes, which have been designed to support high temperature commercial applications, such as X-ray targets, high temp furnace parts, injection molding tooling, and munition parts. TZM (titanium zirconium molybdenum) is made up of over 99% molybdenum alloyed with titanium and zirconium to provide high strength and creep resistance at high temperatures.
Elmet Technologies is the only fully integrated US producer of pure tungsten and molybdenum material. Our expanded range of TZM rods certified to ASTM requirements is produced in Lewiston, Maine where we start with producing and blending the powder, pressing and sintering the ingots and then swaging the material to finished size. Elmet has a state-of-the-art analytical lab to ensure that all lots meet ASTM properties. Elmet’s TZM rod is the only US produced and swaged rod of its type and our current capabilities include meeting all ASTM properties up to .625” in diameter with larger sizes available. Elmet supports high volume customers as well as stocking 3/8”, 1/2” and 5/8” TZM rods for those in need of immediate shipment.
