Forum is to Build Resilient and Diversified Supply Chains for Critical Minerals Such as Tungsten
Elmet Technologies, the last and only fully integrated, U.S.-owned and operated tungsten and molybdenum manufacturer, today announces the company has joined the Critical Minerals Forum, a US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)-funded not-for-profit trade association dedicated to building resilient and diversified critical minerals supply chains.

This strategic initiative reinforces Elmet Technologies’ role in strengthening U.S. supply chains for high-performance metals and critical materials such as tungsten, molybdenum, and related alloys.
The Critical Minerals Forum facilitates the collaboration needed for resilient and diversified supply chains by convening critical mineral miners, processors, end-user manufacturers, investors, and the public sector to provide transparent pricing, cost structures, and supply and demand projections.
“Elmet Technologies is proud to join the Critical Minerals Forum and contribute to its mission of building resilient and diversified supply chains for the materials essential to our nation’s security and advanced manufacturing base,” said Scott Knoll, Executive Vice President of Strategy at Elmet Technologies. “CM Forum’s objectives align closely with our role as the last and only fully integrated U.S.-owned producer of tungsten and molybdenum products.”
By joining the Critical Mineral Forum, Elmet Technologies strengthens its long-term commitment to securing U.S. access to tungsten, molybdenum, and other high-performance metals.
“Access to credible, transparent data and collaboration across the supply chain are critical to ensuring reliable availability of these strategic materials. Tungsten and molybdenum are integral materials for defense systems, aerospace, high-performance electronics, and clean energy applications,” said Derek Fox, Chief Executive Officer at Elmet Technologies. “Elmet remains committed to serving as a trusted domestic source. We look forward to working with CMF members, DARPA, and allied partners to strengthen America’s industrial base and safeguard the supply chains that power our future.”
This collaboration will help ensure that critical supply chains remain resilient, transparent, and capable of supporting the nation’s most demanding defense, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing needs.
